The Generator is controlled using the latest in HMI touch screen technology to display the process in real time.

Maestro and Stream Series Nitrogen Generators for LC/MS

On-site high volume nitrogen generation with the MAESTRO AND STREAM SERIES replaces traditional gas sources such as cylinders, dewars, or bulk gas supply which incur on-going delivery, administrative and rental costs, all of which impact on business revenue or facility budgets. The MAESTRO SERIES is designed primarily for LC-MS applications. It is a self-contained system featuring integrated compressors that deliver laboratory-grade nitrogen at various pressures and flow rates as required by a large spectrum of LC-MS instruments available on the market. The STREAM SERIES are silent-running compressor-free systems for laboratories with an in-house supply of clean, dry air for LC-MS instruments including Agilent, Bruker, Perkin Elmer, Shimadzu, Thermo and Waters.

Both Series deliver nitrogen at a wide range of flow rates including models to satisfy more demanding applications such as multiple LC-MS or other laboratory applications such as sample evaporation and glove boxes. The larger TORNADO SERIES yield higher N2 flow rates if needed when several LC/MS systems are in the same lab.

FAQs

What gas is used in LC MS MS? ›

High purity Nitrogen is used in the Collision cell (collision gas) in LC/MS/MS Instruments to further Fragment the analyte lons. The more the sample is fragmented the more likely that the analyte ions can be identified with certainty.

Where is peak scientific headquarters? ›

Peak Scientific is a Scottish manufacturer of gas generators for analytical laboratories. Headquartered in Glasgow, United Kingdom, it specialises in the production of nitrogen, hydrogen, and gas generators, mainly for the fields of liquid chromatography–mass spectrometry and gas chromatography.

What is peak nitrogen generator for LC MS? ›

Genius 1024 LC-MS nitrogen generator

Designed exclusively for SCIEX applications, the Genius 1024 provides nitrogen and dry air to supply curtain, source and exhaust gas for SCIEX LC-MS/MS instruments.

What is a nitrogen gas generator for GC? ›

Nitrogen generators play a crucial role in gas chromatography (GC) and gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS). These instruments provide a reliable source of high-purity nitrogen for many essential aspects of these advanced analytical techniques.

What gas is used in GC-MS? ›

Shimadzu Gas Chromatograph Mass Spectrometers (GCMS) support the use of hydrogen as the carrier gas. In addition, by using the Method Translator (Restek), the methods that have been developed and used with helium can be simply converted into methods for hydrogen carrier gas.

Why use GC-MS instead of LC-MS? ›

The GC/MS is a faster process, while LC/MS can identify a broader range of compounds. If your lab needs chromatography-mass spectrometry equipment, Conquer Scientific has a vast inventory of used GC/MS equipment and LC/MS instruments at affordable prices.

Who is the owner of Peak Scientific? ›

Who We Are. Established over 25 years ago by founder and Chairman Robin MacGeachy, PEAK Scientific is a leading innovator in the design, manufacture and support of high performance gas generators for analytical laboratories, with direct operations in every continent around the world.

Where did peak scientific come from? ›

In 1992, PEAK Scientific was first established as a distributor of air compressors in an old shed in Linwood, just outside Glasgow, with an outside toilet!

How does a hydrogen generator work? ›

How does a hydrogen generator work? A hydrogen generator works by using electricity to split the hydrogen atoms in a water molecule apart form the oxygen atom. This is done by a process called electrolysis, and is performed in a cell inside the hydrogen generator.

What is LC GC MS? ›

Gas chromatography–mass spectrometry (GC/MS) and liquid chromatography–mass spectrometry (LC/MS) are two of the most common chemical identification and analysis methods.

What is the nitrogen rule in GC MS? ›

The nitrogen rule indicates that when a molecule with an even mass produces a fragment by breaking a single bond, the fragment will have an odd mass. When the sample's mass is odd, fragmentation via a similar pathway will give an even fragment as long as the nitrogen is still contained in the observed fragment.

What is the nitrogen rule in LC-MS? ›

Nitrogen rule: When m/z for M has an even mass (even number of amu), the corresponding molecular formula has an even number of nitrogen atoms (0, 2, 4, etc.). When m/z for M has an odd mass (odd number of amu), the corresponding molecular formula has an odd number of nitrogen atoms (1, 3, 5, etc.).

What is the best gas for GC? ›

The most efficient gas is hydrogen, followed by helium and nitrogen. Even though the optimum plate height for the three gases are almost identical, helium and nitrogen are behind with respect to analysis time.

What are the two types of GC? ›

There are two main types of gas chromatography: Gas-Liquid Chromatography (GLC) and Gas-Solid Chromatography (GSC). Gas-Liquid Chromatography involves mixing a small sample size of a volatile compound with a gaseous mobile phase to be passed through a non-volatile liquid stationary phase.

Can oxygen be used in GC? ›

Carrier gas plays an important role and is characterized by the use of GC. The carrier gas should be a dry kinetic phase, free of oxygen, chemically inert, and used in chromatography.

What gases are used in mass spectrometry? ›

In chemical ionization, a small amount of gaseous atoms is ionized by collision with ions produced by electron bombardment of the reagent gas. Some widespread reagent gases are methane, oxygen, ammonia and hydrogen. The electron-impact ion source is the most commonly used ionization method.

What is API gas in LC-MS? ›

Atmospheric Pressure Ionization (API) sources ionize the sample at atmospheric pressure and then transfer the ions into the mass spectrometer. These techniques are used to ionize thermally labile samples such as peptides, proteins and polymers directly from the condensed phase.

What is the carrier gas in MS? ›

Hydrogen carrier gas can be an effective replacement for helium in many gas chromatography (GC) and GC–mass spectrometry (MS) applications. In gas chromatography (GC), the carrier gas serves as the mobile phase and carries (moves) the solutes down the column.

Why is nitrogen gas used in mass spectrometry? ›

During the ionization process, energetic electrons or ions can collide with neutral molecules, leading to undesired ionization events. By introducing nitrogen gas into the ionization source, it acts as an inert medium, reducing the likelihood of such collisions and minimizing background interferences.
